Why LexiCert

Built so a decision can be traced back to evidence

Scoring you can audit

Every result carries a record ID, an examiner ID and a session timestamp. Nothing is graded anonymously, and nothing is graded twice differently.

Built for institutions, not just individuals

Reporting formats, pass marks and turnaround times are agreed once per partner and applied consistently across every student in that pipeline.

Human judgement where it matters

Objective sections are machine-scored the instant they are submitted. Writing and speaking are graded by qualified examiners against a published rubric.

A named contact, not a ticket queue

Partner universities are assigned one account contact who understands their rubric and their calendar, for the life of the partnership.

From our partners

What admissions teams and students say

LexiCert's interview reports arrive in a format our admissions team can act on the same day. We stopped needing a second call to clarify a candidate's spoken English.

Fiona Marsh

Head of International Admissions, Northbridge University

We moved our pre-CAS screening to LexiCert after two intakes with inconsistent agent-side interviews. The rubric-based scoring gave us something defensible to point to.

David Okafor

International Partnerships Manager, Grantham College London

The band movement reports meant I could show my sponsor concrete progress every four weeks, not just a certificate at the end.

Ananya Deshpande

Student, B2 to C1 pathway, Mumbai

Turnaround was the deciding factor. Five working days from test to report let us fit LexiCert into a January intake we would otherwise have missed.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

No. LexiCert's assessment is a CEFR-aligned evaluation used by our partner universities and institutions for their own admissions and screening decisions. It is not a substitute for a recognised international English test where a university or visa authority specifically requires one.

Our target is five working days from test completion to a signed-off report. Objective sections are scored the moment they are submitted; written and spoken sections go through examiner review, which is the part that takes time.

Yes. Retakes are permitted at any time and are treated as a new attempt with a new payment. Both attempts remain on record.

Interviews run on a proctored platform with identity verification against the candidate's passport photo. Sessions are recorded and timestamped, and retained for 180 days for the partner university's audit trail.

The partner university's own pass criteria are used wherever we act on their behalf. Where a student is testing independently, LexiCert's own published pass mark applies.

Qualified examiners, holding CELTA or equivalent certification, grade against a published four-part rubric: fluency and coherence, lexical range, grammatical accuracy and pronunciation. A second examiner reviews any result within three points of the pass threshold.

Yes. See University Partnership Support — most partners either receive results directly, embed LexiCert as a pre-CAS screening step, or use us as a neutral evaluator across an agent network.
